Tranquility

April 24, 2009 at 7:42 am (Life, Seasons) (, , , , )

Imagine… you are walking quietly along the pavement, it’s been a warm day spring day and you can sense the summer around the corner. Smiling to yourself as you trod down the street, a bird is chirping along with the tranquillity.

Then suddenly…

Out of nowhere…

Startling you…

There is this monster barking like crazy at you.

Don Rickles

March 22, 2009 at 11:30 am (Comedy, Life) (, , , , )

I’m late to wake up to the genius and greatness that he possess. Someone who can be so funny without really offend anyone, his timing is amazing. Enjoy this clip and go to youtube and find more where he is working his magic. There is a documentary called Mr Warmth about him, but I haven’t managed to find it anywhere yet.

Here he is at Dean Martins roast celebrating Bob Hope. :)

Oh… I just had to add this one as well, this is Denzel Washington on Letterman, Denzel has decided to stay on for the second guest who is of course Don Rickles. Guests usually never stay on for the second guest on Letterman, but you can see that Denzel is really looking forward to meet Don.

17 days until the premiere

March 16, 2009 at 7:54 am (Cinema, Czech Republic, Football, Malmö FF, Prague) (, , , , , , )

Until the start of the Swedish football season that is, and 27 days until we play our first game at the new home ground. Can’t really convey how excited I am about this, we can leave it on A LOT. :)

Can’t say I have overwhelming high hopes about the season but one always wish for a miracle. That somehow the squad have come to perfect harmony and will play dazzling football. May 20th I intend to be at the new stadium cheering on to a victory.

Not much going on otherwise, got my invitation to the wedding where I will be best man, I will need to wear a tuxedo with tails, I don’t mind I just hope I will be able to rent one in my size.

Never told you what I thought of Watchmen, well it was really good. Easily four (TTTT) out of five.

Febiofest is around the corner, the film festival. This will be my fourth year in a row attending it and as always I hope to catch one or two Swedish movies. I think this time they are showing amongst others “Ping-pongkingen“.

Right now I am at home waiting for the gas man, they should have arrived to the building to switch gas meters almost an hour ago but as far as I can tell nobody has showed up yet.

Pretty cool

I like mostly the beginning when the audience is singing.

Then we have what looks like a folk rock group owning Britney Spears.  :)

To trust strangers and be comfortable with change

March 9, 2009 at 8:19 am (Life) (, , , , )

I’m sometimes astonished how people think a stranger want to make their life miserable. A person that they’ve never talked with, never had any social interaction with, a person they have no clue about who they are. Still they think that this person will cause some trouble to them, that they will harm them physically or mentally. I’ve always wondered why people think like this, even if it might have happened sometime before there must be many other circumstances when strangers haven’t.

My experience is that sometimes strangers can treat you better than friends, people you’ve never met that go out of their way to help you. A stranger has no motive to want something bad to happen to you, they don’t know if you are a bastard or not so why would they like to hurt you. I’m not being naïve, I know there are people who would, and I know there are people with psychological problems. But they are far from the majority; they are far from being around every corner you pass. All I’m saying is keep an open mind instead of shutting it close to everyone not part of your social circle.

I can understand why we don’t like change. I can be annoyed at it to; like when I will have to change a procedure at work that I know very well, or the tram that I usually go with has decided to take another route because there is a construction work going on. Annoyed with these changes isn’t the same thing as thinking the world will be at an end if these changes happen. Things have always changed and always will change; the skill to adapt has and always will be one of the most important to humankind. Everything we know we learnt at some point, everything we know was a change earlier in life. Without all those changes, without all those things we’ve learned we wouldn’t be the person we are today, and if we don’t see changes for what they really are we will never know the person we are going to be.

Sleeping with a smile on my lips

March 8, 2009 at 8:52 pm (Czech Republic, Life, Love, Music) (, , , , )

“When I was a young boy, my momma she said to me:
There’s only one girl in the world for you
And she probably lives in Tahiti
Or maybe in the Bahamas
Where the Caribbean sea is blue
Weeping away in the tropical night
Because nobody’s told her bout you

Id go the whole wide world
Id go the whole wide world
Just to find her
Id go the whole wide world
Id go the whole wide world
To find out where they hide her”

Little did I know it was going to be in Czech Republic.
