Biggest trial in a long time…

February 7, 2009 at 11:26 am (The Pirate Bay) (, , , )

in Sweden is soon about to start. The trial against Pirate Bay will start on the 16th of February, it has been an ongoing history for some time now. And during these years the interest for what should be allowed on internet has only increased, and yet they decide to put the trial in a court room that can only hold 35-40 people. 20 places are supposed to be reserved for the press, which would mean only the biggest media would be allowed in. The biggest media of course is also owned by the counterpart in this case against The Pirate Bay, just shows how ridiculous this is. Pirate Bay has now protested and demands a court room that can take at least 150 people, and they want 80-100 places reserved for the media. I think Pirate Bays demands lies a lot closer to the truth about how much interest there is for this trial.

I hope they get the justification they deserve and also I hope this will be a start for something more. They are passing law after law at the moment in Sweden that is infringing on the personal space, and I find it fascinating that many of these people creating the laws have very little internet experience themselves. To some extent it is definitely a issue between generations.

I think that film studios and even the record companies, because they are not able to create a global offering, with a choice as wide as torrent or else, create and organize the digital piracy !

The legislature is him in a position that we know well … it goes in the direction of business and money: (
